Stubai – Arlberg Freeride Crossing

High alpine freeride crossing in Tyrol

Good off-piste skiing skills are a basic requirement

When freeriding, have you ever wondered if you could ski the untracked backside of the area? Where do you think it’s going? Do you come back again? We have the answer for you: In the case of our tour, it goes to the next freeride area. We cross Tyrol in 6 days along the main ridge of the Alps, minimizing the climbs and maximizing the scenic and riding experience.
The Stubai – Arlberg Freeride crossing goes through the following ski resorts: Stubai Glacier, Sölden, Pitztal Glacier, Kaunertal Glacier, Ischgl and the finale at Arlberg. Along the glaciated main ridge of the Alps we find the best lines and are even in Italy for a short time. We travel alpine style, it’s all about the essentials, the untracked powder in the backcountry of the very big ski resorts. That means we have in our backpack everything you need, and you do not need much. We spend the night in cool huts or also in comfortable hotels, there all needs are satisfied.
Pure alpine freeriding in a small group, with a new area every day, new descents and, as I said, especially the backside of the areas where you normally do not come, because you end up in the wrong valley. This trip is for very good skiers who can handle all types of snow. As usual in a ski traverse, of course, you also have to ascend, but only a fraction of what you descend. This tour is definitely an alpine freeride highlight that you should have done.

Your mountain guide

Markus Emprechtinger – Born in the hilly Innviertel region, it was clear at the latest when he moved to Innsbruck to study that a life without mountains would no longer be possible. He studied meteorology so he wouldn’t get caught in the rain on the road, but most of the time he’s outdoors anyway and takes the weather as it comes. Markus is an all-rounder, whether with bike, ice tools, climbing pads or skis, he has fun everywhere. Besides mountain sports, there is also photography. Of course, the guests benefit from this as well, because neat pictures of eventful tours are already a cool thing.
